Jock the Hero Dog (2011) on Netflix

Plot summary

Jock is a dog in the Bushveld of the late 1880s, the wild country near what is today Kruger National Park. He belongs to Fritz, a man who travels this region as minerals and the big game herds draw explorers and adventurers from many countries. Jock is fearless and devoted to his owner, and the two of them make their way through the bush together. Along the route Jock gathers friendships and shows his loyalty to Fritz. The tale is adapted from a 1907 book about a dog and his master, and the events are based on a true story.
