Plot summary
In the south of France, American businessman Tony Newlander has had enough of people who befriend him for his wealth, his ex-wife Cecilia and his valet among them. From his yacht he sees Louie, a tramp, going under in the water. Tony dives in and pulls him to shore, and the yacht leaves without him. Louie had wanted to die, and being saved he does not try again. He brings Tony back to the beach shack where he lives. Morning comes and Tony is gone, along with Louie's rags, a tuxedo and money left behind.
