Plot summary
John Smith drives a cab in London and is married twice over. Stephanie shares his home in Finsbury, Michelle in Stockwell, and neither knows about the other. A schedule he keeps in his pocket, together with the varying hours of his shifts, keeps the two households apart. On the day he steps in to stop a mugging, he takes a blow to the head and is taken to the hospital with concussion. The overnight stay throws off his timetable, and both women contact the police to report him missing. Detectives in each part of London find paperwork that looks wrong to them. John turns to his friend Gary Gardner for help, and two of his neighbors have a leak in their bathroom to deal with.
