Plot summary
In Prague, Blade hunts for his mentor Abraham Whistler, believed dead but held as a vampire prisoner. After freeing and curing him, Blade learns that a pandemic is turning vampires into Reapers, mutant creatures with an infectious bite that transforms humans and vampires alike. The first carrier is Jared Nomak. Vampire overlord Eli Damaskinos sends his servant Asad and his daughter Nyssa to propose a truce, since humans will be the Reapers' next target. Blade allies with the Bloodpack, an elite vampire squad first formed to kill him, including Reinhardt, Chupa, Snowman, Priest, Verlaine, and Lighthammer. When Reinhardt challenges him, Blade plants an explosive on his skull to keep him in line.
