Plot summary

At a cemetery, four old friends, Lello Mascetti, Guido Necchi, Rambaldo Melandri and Alfeo Sassaroli, stand at the grave of Giorgio Perozzi, the fifth of their group, and recall the jokes and cruel pranks they made together with him. The men are still ready for adventures and cruel jokes. Mascetti is the master of the supercazzola, a flood of words with no logical connection that leaves the person in front of him baffled while his friends laugh. Sassaroli, a consultant, steps in when the police or other angry citizens complain, claiming acquaintance with magistrates and politicians. The wives of some of the friends put up with the nonsense they invent. New jokes start at the grave.
