Plot summary
At her parents' garden party, Alice is meant to perform the song "Cherry Ripe", but the thought of singing it for a crowd of strangers frightens her, and she takes refuge in the woods. A White Rabbit hurries past, and she goes after him down a hole that leads to Wonderland. She wants to get into a small door that opens on a garden, but she swells to enormous size, floods the room with tears and then shrinks to the size of a mouse. She listens to Mr. Mouse's dull history lecture, gives out the prizes at a Caucus Race and, when the White Rabbit sends her for his gloves, becomes stuck inside his house. Major Caterpillar urges her not to be afraid of performing.
