Plot summary
Alice Chapman runs an antique store and is engaged to Will Mitchum, a realtor who stays behind to close a business deal and says he will join her later. She travels alone to his hometown for the family's Christmas gathering, uneasy about meeting her future in-laws. At the airport her bag does not arrive, and while she fills in the paperwork she meets Matt Mitchum, who is reporting a missing bag of his own and who tells her he is the brother of her fiancé, Billy. A crash on the drive to the family home puts them both in the hospital, and Matt's parents take Alice in and welcome her. She and Matt bake Christmas cookies, trade memories and find that they share a liking for antiques and old family photographs.
