Plot summary
In the kingdom of Fortunia, a king and his queen long for a child. A daughter, Snow White, is born, and the queen dies soon after. The king remarries at his people's urging. His new wife is beautiful and wicked, and she grows jealous of her stepdaughter's beauty. As Snow White grows up, the queen has her locked away. Snow White flees a hired assassin and hides in the dwarfs' house while they are away. Moe, Larry and Curly Joe are staying there with their ward, Quatro, and romance begins between Quatro and Snow White.

- Patricia Medina later recalled that her co-star Carol Heiss repeatedly tried to get her fired from Snow White and the Three Stooges.
- Frank Tashlin was set to direct the film on a $750,000 budget, but Fox replaced him with Walter Lang, who had directed the Stooges in 1933's Meet the Baron; Lang turned it into a lavish epic costing $3.5 million, the most expensive film the Stooges ever starred in.
- Because the film's audience was mostly children paying fifty cents a ticket, it needed an unattainable audience of more than 15 million minors just to recover its production costs.
