Plot summary
The Rock and Mankind have traded the WWF Championship through a series of matches with disputed finishes, so their rematch is a Last Man Standing bout, which a wrestler can only lose by staying down for a referee's count of ten. The other main event puts 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin in a steel cage with Vince McMahon, the owner of the company, and a win keeps Austin's place in the WrestleMania main event. Ken Shamrock defends the Intercontinental Championship against Val Venis with Billy Gunn as the special referee, Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett defend the tag team titles against D'Lo Brown and Mark Henry, and Al Snow meets Bob Holly for the vacant Hardcore Championship. Kane and Chyna face Triple H and X-Pac.
