Plot summary
June Bailey and her mother imagine Wonderland, an amusement park whose animal residents include Boomer the bear, Greta the boar, Gus and Cooper the beaver brothers, Steve the porcupine, and Peanut the chimpanzee, who builds rides after hearing her mother's voice. When her mother grows ill and leaves for recovery, June turns away from the park and burns its plans. Her father signs her up for math camp, but she slips off the bus and heads back through the woods. There she finds a real Wonderland in disrepair, its animals fleeing a dark cloud and the Chimpanzombies, the park's old plush toys. June tells the animals that she and her mother created them.

- Dylan Brown directed the film and was involved through most of the production period, but Paramount dismissed him in January 2018, citing "inappropriate and unwanted conduct"; as a result, no director's credit is included in the final film.
- The film was nearly complete when Brown was fired, and Paramount offered the director's credit to multiple key creative personnel, but they refused, fearing the film would be detrimental to their careers; David Feiss, Robert Iscove and Clare Kilner finished it uncredited.
- For the lead role of June Bailey the filmmakers wanted an unknown actress: more than 1,500 people from all over the US and the world auditioned before 11-year-old Brianna Denski from Terryville, Connecticut was offered the role.
