Plot summary
Jenny Stewart is the star of a new Broadway musical, Evening with Jenny, and runs her rehearsals by rewriting dialogue, rearranging the music and ordering new costumes, cutting down anyone who stands in her way, though she cries alone at home. Her rehearsal pianist quits, and Tye Graham takes the job. Tye is a former critic who was blinded in the war, and he cannot read the changes Jenny has made to the score, so he proposes modifications of his own. Jenny orders the director, Joe Denner, to let him go.
