Plot summary
An MI6 operation in Dubai collapses when the men under Nigel Cooke are killed by Liam Crown. James Greer, now deputy director of the CIA, asks his friend Jack Ryan to pick up a package from Cooke during a business trip to Dubai. Ryan has left the agency and manages hedge fund risk; he agrees reluctantly, and his former colleague Mike November comes along. Cooke, distressed, gives Ryan a cigarette pack, says Greer is the one who needs help, and is then killed. Ryan and November go after the killer, who is shot by Crown. MI6 officer Emma Marlow takes them into custody.
