Plot summary
Brodie Torrance, a former RAF officer from Scotland, flies Trailblazer Airlines Flight 119 from Singapore to Honolulu with a stop in Tokyo. A directive from his superiors keeps him on a route over the South China Sea, where severe weather damages the aircraft's avionics. Torrance and co-pilot Samuel Dele land on Jolo, a remote island in the southern Philippines. Among the fourteen passengers is Louis Gaspare, a homicide suspect being extradited to Canada under RCMP custody. In New York, David Scarsdale takes charge of the airline's response while local authorities say they need a day. Torrance and Gaspare leave the plane and walk into the jungle looking for help.
