Plot summary
Eddy Kay is a mild-mannered watchmaker. He pulls a woman from a burning building, and the rescue puts his face on the news. Colonel Taylor sees the broadcast and is shaken, because he had believed Eddy was dead. An attempt on Eddy's life follows, leaving him with nightmares and flashes of a past that does not belong to him. Unsure whether he is losing his mind, Eddy asks Dr. Anna Nolmar, a psychiatrist, to help him. She takes his account for a hallucination until another attack proves the danger real, and Eddy and Anna go on the run to learn who he is and why someone wants him dead.
