Plot summary
Mary Morstan asks Sherlock Holmes for help in learning what became of her father, Captain Morstan, who disappeared ten years earlier. A pearl of some value arrives for her through the post once a year, with no name attached. Holmes and Dr. Watson take on the case, and it leads them into an older story of a lost treasure and a pact made by four convicts on the Andaman Islands during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
