Plot summary
Ariel and Eric have a daughter, Melody, and at her christening at sea King Triton gives her a locket bearing her name. Morgana, Ursula's sister, crashes the celebration with her shark Undertow and demands the trident, threatening the baby; Triton shrinks Undertow and Morgana escapes, vowing revenge. Ariel decides Melody must be kept from the sea, and a wall goes up around the castle with Sebastian left to watch over her. Years later Melody, who slips out to swim in secret, finds the locket on her birthday. Her party goes badly, Ariel will not explain the locket, and Melody rows out into open water, where Undertow offers to take her to Morgana.
