Plot summary
The Great Prince is left to raise his son Bambi after the fawn's mother is shot by a hunter. He asks Friend Owl to find a doe who can take the fawn, but the winter is harsh and no doe can spare food, so Bambi stays with his father until spring. Bambi is given time with Thumper and Flower, and at a groundhog ceremony he meets Faline, a young doe he has met before. An older fawn named Ronno scares the groundhog back into its hole and tells Faline a story about Man to impress her. Bambi believes it, and Ronno is about to fight him until his mother calls him away.
