Plot summary
In 2003, CIA official Donald Fitzroy visits Courtland Gentry, a Florida prisoner who as a boy killed his abusive father to protect his brother, and offers him freedom in exchange for work as an assassin in the agency's black ops Sierra program. Eighteen years later, Gentry, now called Sierra Six, is in Bangkok with fellow agent Dani Miranda to kill a man suspected of selling national security secrets. The target, mortally wounded, tells him he was a Sierra man too and leaves him an encrypted drive. The drive documents corruption at the agency, and Six sends it to a former handler in Prague rather than accept evacuation, then asks the retired Fitzroy for extraction. The CIA hires mercenary Lloyd Hansen to hunt him.
