Plot summary
A donor heart reaches a New York hospital, but the patient who was to receive it dies. The hospital's organ transplant committee meets within the hour to decide which of three other people on the waiting list will get the heart. Five doctors sit on the committee, among them heart surgeon Dr. Andre Boxer, Dr. Jordan Taylor and Dr. Valerie Gilroy. They debate the three cases, and the room divides over ethics and money.
