Plot summary
Guillaume Daubray-Lacaze is an industrialist whose business makes materials and systems for fighting pollution. A contract with a Japanese enterprise for his CX-22 machines keeps the firm out of bankruptcy, but his workers soon point out that the factory has no space to build or store the new model. Guillaume brings the work into his home, filling the rooms with equipment and putting workers in his bedroom. Bernadette, his wife, tries to put up with the disruption. When her garden is cleared away to hold more machines, she decides to leave him and to stand in the municipal elections against her husband.
