Plot summary
Marthe, a secretary, and Ludovic, a dance instructor who changes jobs every three years, meet for the first time at a family wedding: Marthe's mother is marrying Ludovic's uncle. Marthe's husband Pascal, a pharmaceutical salesman, is a philanderer, and Ludovic's wife Karine, a landscape designer, is younger and insecure. Ludovic wants the people around him to have the freedom to be happy. During the reception Pascal and Karine disappear together, leaving Marthe and Ludovic to wait and then dance. Ludovic's teenage daughter Nelsa is at the wedding too, taking photographs. Marthe and Ludovic begin meeting for lunch and swimming at a public pool, and they enjoy each other's company. Pascal and Karine grow jealous.
