Plot summary
Jill and Philippe are an American couple raising two small children in Paris. Philippe works in an office now, but an organization he was once involved with asks him for another job, and he refuses. The marriage is strained, and Jill, who has memory lapses, suspects Philippe of being unfaithful. Cynthia, their neighbor, takes an unusual interest in the family's affairs. One day, while Jill is out walking with the children, they go missing. She and Philippe contact the police, and Chameille, who leads the investigation, cannot tell whether the children were taken or whether their mother is responsible.
