Harry Hamlin
Biography
Harry Hamlin is an American actor who has also worked as an author and entrepreneur. Born in Pasadena, California, he studied drama and psychology at Yale University and earned a Master of Fine Arts in acting from the American Conservatory Theater, where he starred in Equus and caught the attention of director Stanley Donen. He received his first Golden Globe nomination for Movie Movie (1978), then became widely known as Perseus in Clash of the Titans (1981). He also starred in Making Love (1982), the first gay themed love story produced by a major studio. From 1986 to 1991 he played attorney Michael Kuzak on L.A. Law, earning three Golden Globe nominations, and he later returned to the role in an L.A. Law reunion film (2002). His other work includes the documentary The Celluloid Closet (1995), his Broadway debut in Awake and Sing!, and an Emmy-nominated guest role on Mad Men. He authored Full Frontal Nudity in 2010.

Early training
Hamlin trained at the American Conservatory Theater, earning a Master of Fine Arts in acting in 1976, and his performance there as Equus caught the eye of director Stanley Donen.
First role
In 1984, Hamlin played Moe Axelrod in a Broadway revival of Clifford Odets' Awake and Sing!, with Frances McDormand opposite him. It was his Broadway debut.
Beyond film
In early 1991, Hamlin sang in the choir and appeared in the music video for "Voices That Care," a song made to support U.S. troops in the Middle East during Operation Desert Storm.
