Plot summary
Castle Grotteskew stands on a hill above the village of Grubber Nubbin, and inside it a scientist obsessed with creating monsters works on his next one. As each new creature appears, the older ones are ignored. Stitch Head, his first, keeps the household in order and teaches the others to behave, to stay inside the castle and to stay out of sight. Fulbert Freakfinder, a traveling circus ringmaster hunting for a new attraction, arrives, becomes taken with Stitch Head and urges him to leave the castle for fame. Stitch Head refuses at first, then is reminded that the Professor takes no notice of him, and he accepts, to the dismay of the other monsters.
