Plot summary
An unusually warm season gives way to a snowstorm that shuts down Syracuse, New York. Tom Brandston, the weatherman at Channel 6, predicted the storm first, but Chad Symmonz, his rival at another station, takes the credit. Tom's wife Laura and their youngest son Randy are snowed in at home. Natalie Brandston plans to take on the Snowplowman, whose efficient plowing has kept a second snow day from ever happening, and her friends Chet Felker and Wayne Alworth join her. Her older brother Hal spends the day trying to win over Claire Bonner, the school's most popular girl, with his best friend Lane Leonard along.
