Biography

Asher Angel is an American actor who was born in Phoenix in 2002 and began his career as a child performer in theater. He acted in numerous stage productions at the Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale, including Oliver!, The Little Mermaid, and Into the Woods. His screen debut came at age five in the film Jolene (2008). At twelve, he won the role of Jonah Beck in the Disney Channel series Andi Mack (2017 to 2019). Angel then played Billy Batson in the DC Extended Universe films Shazam! (2019) and Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023), the first of which drew critical acclaim. His other films include Darby and the Dead (2022), On Fire (2023), and Lazareth (2024), and he joined the cast of Kissing Is the Easy Part (2026). He has also released singles such as One Thought Away (2019) and Flip the Switch (2024).
