Plot summary
Shaggy Rogers and his dog Scooby-Doo join Fred, Daphne and Velma on a trip to Japan, where Daphne has been invited to compete in a martial arts tournament at Mirimoto Academy near Tokyo. There the gang meets Daphne's friend Miyumi, the academy's head Miss Mirimoto, her bodyguard Sojo, and Mr. Takagawa, curator of a Tokyo museum of ancient history, who brings word of the Black Samurai. Long ago, a swordsmith named Masamune forged the Sword of Fate and his apprentice Muramasa the Sword of Doom, whose evil turned a warrior into the Black Samurai; the Green Dragon trapped him inside that blade and wrote its hiding place into a riddle on the Destiny Scroll. Ninjas attack the academy seeking the scroll.
