Plot summary
Sandy Wexler works as a talent manager in Los Angeles in 1994. He is eccentric and stretches the truth to seem important, and the performers he handles, among them the ventriloquist Ted Rafferty, the comedian Kevin Connors and the wrestler Bobby Barnes, have gone nowhere. His first client, Alfred, is the only one who became a success. Sandy rents a cabana from Firuz, a Jewish-Iranian landlord whose legal situation requires a tenant, and cameras watch the small part of the property he may use. At Six Flags he sees Courtney Clarke perform and promises to make her a star.
