Biography

Colin Quinn, an American stand-up comic and actor from Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood, began performing stand-up in 1984 and gained fame in 1987 as the announcer and sidekick on MTV's Remote Control. Saturday Night Live brought him aboard in 1995 as both writer and featured player, and he later became a full cast member and anchored Weekend Update from 1998 until his 2000 departure. He went on to host Comedy Central's Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, a panel program that ran from 2002 to 2004 and made more than 200 episodes. His screen work includes Dickie Bailey in Grown Ups (2010) and Grown Ups 2 (2013) and Amy Schumer's father in Trainwreck (2015), a role critics praised. He also wrote and starred in one-man stage shows, among them Long Story Short, directed by Jerry Seinfeld and broadcast by HBO in 2011.
