Plot summary
A hand is found in a pond in New York, and officer Rembrandt Macy is assigned to the murder. The victim must be identified. When she is, her former roommate Nikki fears for her own safety and stays at his home while the case is open. Nikki also leads Macy through the life the dead woman had kept hidden. His search takes him into a conspiracy that reaches City Hall and a gang of Chinese Triads.
