Ron Jeremy

Biography

Ron Jeremy is an American former pornographic actor who also made non-pornographic media appearances. Born in Queens, New York City, he studied theater and education at Queens College and worked as a teacher before leaving that profession to pursue acting on Broadway. After posing for Playgirl, he moved into the adult film industry, initially using the name Hyatt before adopting his middle name professionally. Fellow performer William Margold nicknamed him The Hedgehog, and AVN ranked him first on its 50 Top Porn Stars of All Time list. He won AVN Awards for best supporting actor and was named Crossover Star of the Year in 2012. The Internet Adult Film Database lists more than 2,000 films he performed in and 285 he directed, and Scott J. Gill's documentary Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy, released in 2001, looked at his career.
