Richard Burgi

Richard Burgi is an American film and television actor known for playing Det. Jim Ellison on The Sentinel, Karl Mayer on Desperate Housewives and Kevin Carroll in the first season of 24. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, into a family involved in community theater, he started out in New York with regular parts on the daytime soap operas One Life to Live, As the World Turns and Another World, and later moved to Los Angeles for Days of Our Lives. His first lead came in the 1994 series One West Waikiki, followed by three seasons of The Sentinel. He appeared in Cellular (2004), Fun with Dick and Jane (2005) and In Her Shoes (2005), and later in Friday the 13th (2009). He played Paul Hornsby on General Hospital from 2015 to 2016 and Ashland Locke on The Young and the Restless in 2021.
