Olivia Hussey
Biography
Olivia Hussey was a British actress born in Buenos Aires and raised mainly in England, who trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She began acting professionally in her teens, and a role in a West End staging of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie led Franco Zeffirelli to cast her as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (1968), a performance that brought her wide recognition and a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year. She starred in the slasher film Black Christmas (1974), played Mary in Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth, and appeared in Death on the Nile (1978), Ivanhoe (1982) and Turkey Shoot (1982). Roles in Psycho IV: The Beginning and the miniseries It earned her the label of scream queen, and she voiced characters in Star Wars games including Rogue Squadron (1998) and The Old Republic (2011). She played the title role in Mother Teresa (2003) and died in 2024.

A role that slipped away
Hussey was next offered the part of Alex Forrest in Fatal Attraction. After reading the screenplay, the rabbit in the boiling pot sequence disturbed her so much that she quickly turned the role down.
