Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham, born in New York City, is a writer, director, actress, and producer. She began with the independent, semi-autobiographical Tiny Furniture (2010), which she wrote, directed, and starred in, and it won the narrative feature award at South by Southwest plus an Independent Spirit Award in the best first screenplay category. She went on to create, write, and star in the HBO series Girls, which ran from 2012 to 2017, earning her Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe Awards; she also became the first woman to earn the Directors Guild of America's award for comedy series directing. Later she wrote and directed Sharp Stick (2022) and Catherine Called Birdy (2022). Her screen work includes This Is 40 and Supporting Characters (both 2012), Happy Christmas (2014), and a role in American Horror Story: Cult. She created the Netflix series Too Much.
