Plot summary
Aura's boyfriend dumps her soon after graduation, so she spends the summer back in her mother's Tribeca loft. Her mother, Siri, is a photographer who builds scenes around tiny furniture, helped by an assistant, Candice, and by Aura's teenage sister, Nadine. Siri welcomes her home at first, while Nadine treats her with condescension. Aura hopes to put money aside until her friend Frankie completes a degree at Oberlin College and can come to the city as a roommate. At a party she meets Jed, a filmmaker who puts his videos on YouTube, and she runs into Charlotte, a childhood friend recovering from drug addiction. Charlotte helps Aura find work taking reservations at a restaurant, where Keith is a junior chef.
