LaTanya Richardson Jackson

LaTanya Richardson Jackson is an American actress who came up through off-Broadway productions before taking supporting parts in film and on television, appearing for a period under the name LaTanya Richardson. She was born in Atlanta. Her films include Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) and Malcolm X (1992), along with Losing Isaiah (1995), Lone Star (1996) and U.S. Marshals (1998). She also appeared in When a Man Loves a Woman (1994) and played Paulina Pritchett in the musical The Fighting Temptations (2003). On television she worked on 100 Centre Street, Show Me a Hero, Luke Cage and Rebel, and from 2017 to 2023 she played Diane on Grey's Anatomy. In 2014 she was nominated for a Tony as Best Lead Actress in a Play for A Raisin in the Sun, and in 2022 she directed a Broadway revival of The Piano Lesson, her directorial debut.
