Kelly Thordsen
Biography
Kelly Thordsen was an American actor who worked in film and television, starting with The Desperados Are in Town in 1956. Born in Deadwood, South Dakota, he came to acting after service in the Navy and twelve years as a Los Angeles police officer. He played Sgt. Bruce in Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957) and went on to appear in City of Fear (1959) as Detective Sgt. Hank Johnson, and as a sheriff in Sweet Bird of Youth (1962). He had an uncredited part in To Kill a Mockingbird and smaller roles in The Misadventures of Merlin Jones, The Ugly Dachshund (1966), Good Times (1967) and Blackbeard's Ghost (1968). On television he guest-starred in Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Wagon Train and Perry Mason, and played Colorado Charlie in five episodes of Yancy Derringer. He was Sheriff L. D. Wicker in The Parallax View (1974) and appeared twice on Sanford and Son. He died in 1978.
