Plot summary
Vince Ryker escapes from San Quentin and travels toward Los Angeles with a canister he thinks contains heroin. The canister actually holds Cobalt-60, a nuclear substance with enough radiation to kill most of the population of the city. Ryker does not know what he is carrying, and continued exposure to it is slowly killing him. Authorities move to capture him and the canister.
