Biography

Joe Alaskey was an American actor and comedian who started as a stand-up comedian and broadcaster in New York City. Bill Scott discovered him and had him voice Boris Badenov in TV commercials. Friz Freleng approached him in 1981 as a possible successor to Mel Blanc, and his first major film voice work was Yosemite Sam in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). After Blanc died in 1989, Alaskey became a primary voice for Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck at Warner Bros. He was Plucky Duck on Tiny Toon Adventures from 1990 to 1995 and Stinkie the Ghost in Casper (1995). He took over Grandpa Lou Pickles on Rugrats and later voiced Bugs and Daffy in Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). His role as Daffy on Duck Dodgers earned him a Daytime Emmy Award in 2004.
