Biography

Jeanne Tripplehorn is an American actress who built her early career on the stage, appearing Off-Broadway in The Big Funk and on Broadway in Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she trained at the Juilliard School before making her film debut as a police psychologist in Basic Instinct (1992), an erotic thriller. She went on to roles in The Firm (1993), Waterworld (1995), Sliding Doors (1998), Mickey Blue Eyes (1999), and Swept Away (2002). On television, she starred as Barbara Henrickson in the HBO drama Big Love and as Dr. Alex Blake in the CBS procedural Criminal Minds, and she earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for playing Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the HBO movie Grey Gardens (2009). Her later films include Little Pink House (2018) and Gloria Bell (2018), and she appeared in the miniseries Mrs. America and the drama series The Gilded Age.
