Biography

Troy Garity is an American actor who was born in Los Angeles and raised in Santa Monica. He made his first screen appearance as a baby in Introduction to the Enemy (1974), took an uncredited part in On Golden Pond (1981), studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and later performed with the Academy Repertory Company in a number of stage productions. His breakout came as Isaac Rosenberg in Barbershop (2002), a part he repeated in Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004) and Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016), where his role shrank to a cameo. He appeared in Steal This Movie (2000), a film about the Yippie founder Abbie Hoffman, and starred as Harvey in Sunshine (2007). For playing Barry Winchell in the television movie Soldier's Girl (2003), he received a Golden Globe nomination, and he won a Young Hollywood Award for Standout Performance. He also had recurring parts on the television series Boss and Ballers.
