Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The film is mentioned in the Season 2 Sopranos episode "D-Girl", when Amy Safir explains to Christopher Moltisanti that there is no longer a demand for mob-related scripts because of the relative box-office failure of this contemporary film.
- The film went on to gross $33.9 million in the United States and a total of $54.3 million worldwide, but according to the Los Angeles Times it was still a "marginal money loser".
- Elizabeth Hurley, one of the film's producers, was Hugh Grant's girlfriend at the time, so the leading man's real-life partner was among the people putting the picture together behind the camera.
- The film's title comes from Michael being forced to impersonate a gangster, a character who is spontaneously named "Kansas City Little Big Mickey Blue Eyes" during the deception.
