Plot summary
Amber Leighton is a wealthy, spoiled socialite married to Tony Leighton, a millionaire pharmaceutical kingpin, and little about her life pleases her. Tony takes her and two other couples on a private cruise that begins in Greece and ends in Italy, and Amber is unimpressed by the no-frills vacation. On board her dislike of Giuseppe, a deckhand, is immediate and intense, and she insults him throughout the trip. When she wants a dinghy ride, she overrules his warnings about an approaching storm. The dinghy runs out of gas and, through a series of mishaps, Amber damages it. The two wash ashore on a deserted island.
