Henry Rollins
Biography
Henry Rollins is an American musician, writer, actor and spoken-word performer who came out of the Washington, D.C. punk scene. He sang with the brief-lived State of Alert, whose only EP, No Policy, came out on Dischord Records in 1981, and then became the frontman of Black Flag until that band broke up in 1986. He started the label and publishing company 2.13.61 and led the Rollins Band in several lineups. He has toured spoken-word shows since the 1980s and won a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Recording for Get in the Van: On the Road with Black Flag. He has hosted the radio program Harmony in My Head and the television shows 120 Minutes and The Henry Rollins Show, and he played A.J. Weston in Sons of Anarchy and voiced Zaheer in The Legend of Korra. He played a police officer in The Chase (1994), and he later appeared in Johnny Mnemonic and Lost Highway.

From 1979 to 1980, Rollins worked as a roadie for D.C. bands, among them Teen Idles. When singer Nathan Strejcek did not show up for practice, Rollins persuaded the Teen Idles to let him sing.
