Plot summary
Ray Elliott has put his old life as a con man behind him. His company, Elliott Consulting, does financial risk assessment on paper, but its real business is selling airtight alibis to married clients who are cheating on their spouses. Ray keeps his rules, refusing anything that touches a crime or a revenge. He has just taken on Lola as his assistant. His first and longest-running client, Robert Hatch, a chronic philanderer, asks him to handle his son Wendell, who wants one weekend of adventure before he marries. Heather Price, Wendell's companion for that weekend, is cheating on a boyfriend of her own. At the same time, word reaches Ray that his former con partner, Jack, is back in town, with a five million dollar contract on his head.
