Greer Garson, a British and American actress and singer, became a top star at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the 1940s, known for period and war dramas in which she played graceful, noble women. She also starred in Random Harvest (1942) and Julius Caesar (1953). Later screen work included The Singing Nun (1966), The Happiest Millionaire (1967), and narrating The Little Drummer Boy (1968). She received seven Oscar nominations, a Golden Globe, and a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, and in 1993 was made a CBE.
