George Rigaud
Biography
George Rigaud was an Argentine-French performer whose screen career stretched across roughly five decades and close to 200 film and television credits. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1905 and moved to Paris with his family at eight, later training at drama school. His first screen appearance came in Under the Leather Helmet (1932). During the 1930s he worked for Max Ophüls on three features, including A Love Story, Divine, and There's No Tomorrow, and also appeared in movies by René Clair, Marcel L'Herbier, and Paul Fejos, taking leading and supporting parts. In 1941 he returned to Argentina and resumed making films, then spent part of the later 1940s in Hollywood. From 1956 he based himself in Spain, where he acted mostly in supporting roles and became familiar to genre fans through horror, giallo, and Spaghetti Western productions.
