Edwige Fenech

Biography

Edwige Fenech is an actress who started out in beauty contests and photo modeling before moving into film with the 1967 comedy All Mad About Him. Born in Bone, Constantine, France, she went on to appear in West German sex farces and in European productions shot in Italy, France, Spain and West Germany. Her greatest cult popularity came from Italian giallos, especially All the Colors of the Dark (1972), made with Sergio Martino. She also appeared in The Case of the Bloody Iris (1972). She worked with Mario Bava on Five Dolls for an August Moon (1970). Her bawdy Italian comedies included The School Teacher (1975). In the 1980s she became a television personality, frequently appearing on an Italian chat show. She later started a fashion line and a production company, co-produced The Merchant of Venice (2004), and returned to acting in Eli Roth's Hostel: Part II (2007).
