Plot summary
Since the car accident that cost Jane Harrison her unborn child, she has been unable to be intimate with Richard Steele, the pharmaceutical salesman she lives with in London. She still carries the trauma of seeing her mother murdered when she was a child. Jane tells the psychiatrist Dr. Burton that a blue-eyed man kills her mother in her nightmares, the same man she noticed in the waiting room. Barbara, her sister, works for Dr. Burton and supports the sessions; Richard distrusts psychiatry and offers vitamins. Mary Weil, a new neighbor, hears Jane's troubles and brings her to a castle, where J. P. McBrian leads a Satanic cult in a Black Mass.
