Bruno Kirby
Biography
Bruno Kirby was an American actor whose career lasted 35 years. Born in New York City, he made his screen debut in 1971 in The Young Graduates. His portrayal of young Peter Clemenza in The Godfather Part II (1974) raised his profile. He became known as a character actor in comedies, often playing fast-talking, combative but likable men. His films included Modern Romance (1981), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), The Freshman (1990), When Harry Met Sally... (1989), and City Slickers (1991), the latter two opposite Billy Crystal. He also took dramatic parts, such as a double-dealing mobster in Donnie Brasco (1997), and voiced Reginald Stout in Stuart Little (1999). On stage, he joined Broadway's Lost in Yonkers in 1991. He appeared on television in American Tragedy and Homicide: Life on the Street, for which he also directed an episode. He died in 2006.
